GIS can be defined as software and hardware that stores, manipulates,
analyzes, and displays spatial information. On our internet GIS
pages, you will find layers of information such as forest type,
streams, roads, land use types, census data, and gameland information.
Our GIS is available
for a limited number of areas in Pennsylvania due to the intensity
of work that is required to gather the site specific information.
We will be adding new areas as our database grows. The next areas
will be Nescopeck Creek Watershed and Jacob's Creek Watershed, the
two current Keystone Projects.
For a GIS of
almost anywhere on Earth, visit
www.terraserver.com. This site will show you a satellite photograph,
but not the many layers of information available for our featured
areas.
