With over 2 million acres
of State managed land and even more private forest land, Pennsylvania
is home to some of the most abundant and accessible forests in the
country. These forests provide valuable habitat for wildlife, lumber
and wood products such as paper and furniture, recreation opportunities
like hiking and hunting, and on and on. These woods are a rich heritage
for future generations.
For more information
about our state's forests and their management, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has an excellent
site.
